Section 1Sponsor and Administrator#
The Measure Twice: The Cut talent competition (the “Contest”) is sponsored and administered by Fieldbook Studio LLC d/b/a Coaxial Collective (“Sponsor,” “Coaxial,” “we,” or “us”), Bentonville, Arkansas. By entering, you agree to be bound by these Official Rules and by the decisions of the Sponsor and judges, which are final and binding in all matters relating to the Contest.
Section 2Definitions#
- Contest
- Measure Twice: The Cut, a multi-round skill-based talent competition for builders, makers, and DIY creators.
- Entrant / Applicant
- A natural person who submits a complete Application during the Application Period.
- Lead Applicant
- For team entries, the natural person designated as the primary contact and prize recipient.
- Star Creator
- A featured YouTube creator partnered with Coaxial to mentor and judge contestants: Perkins Builder Brothers, HAXMAN, and Stud Pack.
- Submission
- Any video, image, text, link, or other material an Entrant submits to the Contest, including the introductory video and any round submissions.
- Qualifying View
- A view counted by YouTube as legitimate (i.e., counted toward public view totals on YouTube), accruing on official competition videos published on the Measure Twice channel between launch and the start of the Finale.
- Application Period
- The window during which Applications are accepted, beginning on the date the Contest is publicly announced and closing on June 14, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time.
Section 3Eligibility#
The Contest is open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia who are at least eighteen (18) years of age at the time of entry, except that minors may apply with the documented consent and contact information of a parent or legal guardian.
Employees, officers, and directors of Sponsor, Star Creators, and their respective affiliates, and members of their immediate families and households, are not eligible to win.
Void where prohibited or restricted by law. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply.
Section 4How to Enter#
To enter, complete the Application at measuretwice.media/apply during the Application Period. The Application requires the following: full name, email, phone, age (and parent/guardian contact for minors), optional team members, city and state, a brief description of trade or DIY experience, at least one social handle or link, how you heard about the Contest, and a one-take introductory video of approximately ninety (90) seconds in length, provided either as a file upload or as a shareable link (YouTube unlisted or Google Drive).
Applicants must acknowledge the content license and these Official Rules. Limit one Application per Lead Applicant. Submissions deemed incomplete, unintelligible, inappropriate, or in violation of these Rules may be disqualified.
No purchase necessary. Entry is free. The Contest is a skill contest; there is no element of chance in selecting winners.
Section 5Team Entries#
Duo and small-group entries are permitted. The Lead Applicant is the sole prize recipient and the contracting party for any contracted series order. Each team member must be eligible and, if a minor, accompanied by parent/guardian contact information. By submitting a team entry, the Lead Applicant represents that all team members have consented to participation and to these Official Rules.
Section 6Rounds and Format#
The Contest consists of an Application phase, at least three (3) review rounds, and an in-person Finale. In each review round, advancing Applicants will receive a brief and a deadline by which to submit a short video shot in their own shop, garage, or job site. Round prompts may include build walk-throughs, focused challenges, show-concept pitches, and on-camera storytelling.
The Sponsor reserves the right to adjust round counts, timelines, prompts, and judging criteria as the Contest progresses. The Finale will be held at one or more locations designated by the Sponsor. Travel and reasonable lodging expenses for Finalists are covered by the Sponsor.
Section 7Judging#
Submissions will be judged on merit by Star Creators and Sponsor representatives against the following criteria, weighted as follows:
- Craft and execution (30%)
- On-camera presence and storytelling (25%)
- Originality and show concept (25%)
- Professionalism, communication, and follow-through (20%)
Judges’ decisions are final and binding. In the event of a tie, the tied Applicants will be re-judged on craft and execution to determine the winner. The Contest contains no element of chance.
Section 8Prizes#
The base prize pool for the Contest is fifteen thousand U.S. dollars ($15,000):
- Winner (1st): $10,000 cash plus a contracted Measure Twice series order (subject to a separate written agreement).
- Runner-up (2nd): $3,000 cash plus a featured guest spot on a Measure Twice episode.
- Third place (3rd): $2,000 cash plus a featured guest spot on a Measure Twice episode.
Cash prizes are paid in U.S. dollars by check or electronic transfer within sixty (60) days of winner verification. Prizes are non-transferable. No substitution permitted except by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Winners are responsible for all applicable taxes.
Section 9Prize Escalator#
The Winner’s cash prize will be increased by one thousand U.S. dollars ($1,000) for every one hundred thousand (100,000) Qualifying Views accrued by official competition videos on the Measure Twice YouTube channel between the date of the first published competition video and the start of the Finale, capped at an additional ten thousand U.S. dollars ($10,000). Maximum total Winner cash prize, inclusive of the Escalator, is twenty thousand U.S. dollars ($20,000).
The Escalator is sponsored by Muckender Towels. YouTube view counts as displayed by YouTube on the day of the Finale’s scheduled start time will be the source of truth.
Section 10License and Rights to Submissions#
By submitting any material to the Contest, you grant Sponsor a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable license to use, reproduce, edit, modify, publish, distribute, publicly display, publicly perform, and create derivative works from your Submissions in any medium now known or later developed, including in Measure Twice videos, marketing, promotional materials, and related uses.
You retain ownership of your underlying work. You represent and warrant that you have all rights necessary to grant the license above, that your Submissions are your original work, that they do not infringe the intellectual property or privacy rights of any third party, and that any people depicted have consented to such use.
Section 11Publicity Release#
Except where prohibited by law, participation in the Contest constitutes consent for Sponsor to use each Entrant’s name, likeness, voice, biographical information, city/state, and Submissions in advertising, marketing, and promotional materials in any medium worldwide in perpetuity without further notice, compensation, or approval.
Section 12Conduct and Disqualification#
Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any Entrant who tampers with the entry process or the operation of the Contest, violates these Official Rules, acts in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or is found to have submitted fraudulent, plagiarized, or AI-generated content represented as their own. Sponsor may also disqualify any Entrant who, in Sponsor’s sole judgment, brings Sponsor, Star Creators, or any sponsor into disrepute.
Section 13Privacy#
Information submitted in connection with the Contest will be handled in accordance with Sponsor’s privacy practices and used to administer the Contest, communicate with Entrants, and as otherwise described in these Official Rules. Contact thecut@coaxialcollective.com with privacy questions.
Section 14Limitation of Liability#
By entering, Entrants agree to release and hold harmless Sponsor, Star Creators, and their respective affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the Contest or receipt or use of any prize, including, but not limited to: (a) unauthorized human intervention; (b) technical errors related to computers, servers, providers, or telephone or network lines; (c) printing errors; (d) lost, late, postage-due, or misdirected mail; (e) errors in the administration of the Contest; or (f) injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from Entrant’s participation in the Contest or receipt of any prize.
Section 15Disputes and Governing Law#
Except where prohibited, by entering this Contest, Entrant agrees that: (a) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest, or any prize awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the state or federal courts located in Benton County, Arkansas; and (b) the laws of the State of Arkansas shall govern these Rules without regard to its conflicts of law principles.
Section 16Modifications and Termination#
Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Contest if any factor interferes with its proper conduct as contemplated by these Official Rules. Material updates to these Official Rules will be posted at measuretwice.media/rules and the “last updated” date below will be revised.
Section 17The Cut Giveaway (Separate)#
The Cut Giveaway is a separate promotion administered independently from this Contest. Entry into one is not entry into the other. Winners of the Giveaway are selected independently. Full Giveaway rules will be posted at measuretwice.media/giveaway-rules.
